“If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.”
Sometimes, what God requires of us is a humble heart that seeks forgiveness from Him, not merely our offerings and sacrifices. He wants us to stop engaging in evil deeds, such as backstabbing, instigating against others at work, taking bribes, and those little sins that we’ve labeled as normal parts of daily life. God sees everything, and we know this truth.
Remember His words: “Do not copy the customs and behavior of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will.” Daniel had to make a conscious decision not to conform to the ways of the Babylonians. He resolved not to defile himself with royal food and wine. There’s a slogan that says, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.” However, this approach doesn’t apply to every situation. Sometimes, even in Rome, you need to take a stand and not follow the patterns of the world; you need to be willing to stand out.
We must keep renewing our minds with the Word of God, remain in His presence, listen to what He says to us, and open our hearts to His guidance to fulfill His will. Do not let the Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
Stay blessed.
