What God is said to do in your life, the devil cannot stop. He cannot stand against it, and there is nothing he can do about it. The promises of God are “yes and amen.” For the Lord your God will bless you as He has promised; you will lend to many nations but borrow from none. You will rule over many nations, but none will rule over you.

Sometimes, it feels like we are going in circles in life, facing disappointment after disappointment. We often wonder what God is doing in all of this: Has He left us to our fate? Is He taking His time in responding to us, or has He perhaps forgotten us? Life’s disappointments can draw us away from trusting God, especially when we have done all we can do and have no other help. We may have been faithful to His word, cried out in prayer, and waited for His assistance. Has He forgotten His promises to bless us, to lift us up lest we dash our foot against a stone, to fight for us while we hold our peace?

One thing I know beyond all reasonable doubt is that God never fails. His faithfulness endures forever. Whatever His promises are to you will surely stand; nothing can stop it. It may not look like it now, but trust in His love—He always comes through. Remember, His thoughts are not our thoughts, neither are our ways His ways. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are His ways higher than our ways and His thoughts than our thoughts.

Just as the rain and snow come down from heaven and do not return without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, yielding seeds for the sower and bread for the eater, so is His word that goes out from His mouth: It will not return to Him empty, but will accomplish what He desires and achieve the purpose for which He sent it (Isaiah 55:11).

He will not let you fail. His mighty hands will hold you high, and His words will come to pass. Our God is not slow in keeping His promises (2 Peter 3:9). So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You will need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised (Hebrews 10:35). Remember, what God is said to do in your life, the devil cannot stop. He cannot stand against it, and there is nothing he can do about it. Shalom.
